Shooting in Kentucky, USA Leaves Five Dead
At least five people have been killed in a shooting at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, according to police.
The Louisville Metro Police Department has reported that six other people were injured in this incident, including one police officer who is among the wounded.
Police have confirmed that the suspected shooter has been killed by their gunfire.
In a brief press conference, the Louisville police reported that they were first informed of the incident around 8:00 am local time.
Officers arrived at the scene within minutes to find the suspect engaged in a gunfight.
Deputy Police Chief Paul Humphrey said that they "came under fire at the front door" and returned fire.
The cause of death of the suspected shooter and whether he is counted as one of the five dead is unclear.
The incident took place at the Old National Bank in downtown Louisville, near the Louisville Slugger Field baseball stadium, and not far from the Kentucky International Convention Center and the Muhammad Ali Center.
